I chose the news: The Church of McDonald´s. I think just the title it´s a reason to read this article. I opted to analized this news because, to us, like teenagers, i think it´s more attractive a article about a burger than one about politics.

The reason why the author has opted to this title to McDonald's, is that these last years this company has behaved like a church. This company has always been there for us all, creating logos , as part of our life. As a cross for churches , McDonald's has made that big yellow "m" that pushes us into the burger.
This has been used phrases like :“When you’re lost and alone, and you’re looking for a home” or “God protect the USA”.
It has also taken advantage of disasters and tragedies to advertise their products . But, Does deserves his food so much recognition? The truth is that no, because their products are among the most unhealthy in the world ! But MacDonald's aren´t going to get his way. Teens begin to realize their intentions and also even have competition.
I suggest you stop paying attention to all the misleading and give him an opportunity to other small startups .

So , I would like to finish as McDonald's :The father, the son, and a side of fries. Amen.
    Note the irony.

I chose this article because while I was searching on New Yorker’s website I couldn’t find a really attractive article for teenagers. Although I must say I found some really good ones but they were longer and boring -for normal teenagers- than the one that I’m writing about now. I know most of the teenagers don’t like reading or they just simply prefer wasting their time playing video games or watching TV all day.

So because of that I chose this one, which is also good and really interesting because it makes a great question: ’’why people walk?’’. I’m sure everyone has got an answer for this, but it’s not that easy, there is a biological and evolutive reason, and with this article you are able to know more about our evolution in our way of walking. Also, if you read it, you will see the autor writes about the shares features that we have with others animals, like a bird, besides primates.

To sum up I want to say I liked this article because I’m interested in evolution, and walking is related to this. And I think some of you could probably be interested in this theme, especially who has got biology lessons, because I know you study this in class and it can complement your knowledge. I know it has some difficult words to understand, I had to search some of them in the dictionary, but it also makes you learn more vocabulary, which is also important.

Finally I would like to say you will not be bored reading this and that it is useful and interesting so please leave the TV and read some information about your own evolution. Here it is the link: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/09/01/heavens-gaits

In my opinion "the church of McDonald´s" is the news most interesting for teenegers today .
The news talk about one of place of fast food most inportant in today. Because as this article says is everywhere and neighbordhoods it is popular because despite its monotony is reliable phrase .This phrase "that McDonald´s in not a faceless global corporation but rather, at its heart " i think defines good to mcDonald´s but it have a good prices and the food is unhealthy.

Finally in my opinion it is interesant for teenagers and i choose because I think what they say is interesting in that debate about advertising that makes these places of their products with images of poverty and malnutrition as trying to show that today's society is concerned but really only care about getting more customers.

  9. Hello! my name is Ana and I choose this new because I think is interesting for us.
The new calls "The 2015 Oscar Nominees in The New Yorker". This new is divided into several parts: Firstly, it apears several movies and after they explain you about their contains. Well, I put here the new which I choose.
“American Sniper,” directed by Clint Eastwood
David Denby reviewed “American Sniper” in the magazine, calling it “both a devastating war movie and a devastating antiwar movie.” Richard Brody called it “a cinematic tragedy in the deepest and most classical sense of the term.” In 2013, Nicholas Schmidle wrote about Chris Kyle, the sniper whose best-selling autobiography served as the basis for the film.
In its 2015 Oscar nominations, revealed this morning, the Academy showed much love for “Grand Budapest” and “Birdman,” which led with nine nominations each; less for “Selma,” which was nominated only for Best Original Song and Best Picture; and none for Jennifer Aniston, who received no nod for her dramatic turn in “Cake.” Richard Brody, writing about the nominations on his blog, observed that there are no big studio productions among the eight movies up for Best Picture, which he takes as evidence that “drama is doing very well, showing audacity and distinctiveness in an age of independent production.” Here’s a look at our past coverage of this year’s Best Picture nominees.
In my opinion, I chose this article because I think is good learn more about culture.

  12. I have chosen this article wich is about Katy's Perry Super Bowl halftime show: http://www.newyorker.com/culture/culture-desk/katy-perry-super-bowl-show?intcid=mod-latest
The Super Bowl is one of the most important sport events in the world. Every year a different performer makes a 12 minutes perform before the show stars, and this year, Katy Perry has made it. Katy brought an amazing colourful show. She emerged atop of a huge lion to sing Roar. Then she sang Dark horse. For the end of the show, she sang one of her biggest hits while she was flying. She was amazing, and the critics loved her show! Good job, Katy!

  13. I liked the article "sleep" because it is different from others, it isn't the typical singer or the typical article is expected. It is very interesting and little quirky , which I personally like something. It is very specific questions about the article and responds giving your personal opinion, and this makes you reflect and see if you think the same or different from him.
I have watched several of the articles but certainly for me this is the best.
