Now I'm going to give my opinion on this topic:
Rap started out just like poetry, a way to express feelings , and critique the society, but in a closer way , with a more plain language. But now that essence is lost. That interest in criticize and speak on freedom , equality ... , has been changed to themes more holow, becoming vulgar.
Although there are exceptions , today when we hear rap, immediately we associate it with profanity , coarseness , and sometimes with sexism.
We must return to the true meaning of rap : " poetry with rhythm " ; like Eminem, and stop supporting the rude songs that today influence young.
So , in conclusion, I think that rap is poetry, but there are some rappers who don't deserve to be called poets.

ResponderEliminarAfter see all of the videos I think that Rap and poetry have a lot of things in common but they have many differences too.
For example, rap and poetry use rhyme and literary resaurces, so if you know poetry you can do rap. But, if you read a poem, you don't use music, but when you listen a song rap, you have music, so it's different.
In mi opinion, rap song use themes like indifference, friendship, violence, war... Etc but poetry have themes more specific like love or death.
Finally, rap is poetry but with some differences.

ResponderEliminarSometimes we have a bad idea on the persons who sing rap. But almost they are persons with good feelings. And sometimes it is compared to the rap with the poetry, I think that they are very similar.In my opinion hip hop is different that rap.The hip hop is music to dance, but the rap is music with feelings, In my opinion there are diferents music but they are similar paces. The rap says the things since they are and hip hop stimulate to looking at a better future.
In conclusión i don´t like rap but i think rap is poetry. Always rap doesn´t poetry because there are somo singers who doesn´t sing poetry.

I think rap is poetry, but i don´t think that every rappers are poets. Some rap express feelings and emotions of the person that sing it, but some rap say you just swear word and nonsense.

However, the person who sing rap, express his emotions with a fast music and they use a lot of insults for this world. They reprimand a lot of things over humanity. It's true that they use poetry but it's a different poetry.
In my opinion, rap isn't all poetry, because there are more forms from express feelings and rap for me is despicable.

ResponderEliminarIn my opinion I think rap is like a special poetry that it talk about feelings of people. Rap songs says many things trues and beautiful, but people don´t understand. Therefore they think that rap is vulgar.
Rap and poetry are very similar, but rap is sing and poetry is read. Rap is a way of see the world more beautiful and fun at the same time.
I think that rap is just as difficult as poetry. In general, rappers are poets but more moderns.

When we are studying our own language at school, we study the most important poets that we had had in our history, which means that we are studying how people used to express their feelings, thoughts, visions of the world… In the past, and that is what we consider poetry. But we don’t study how people express themselves now. Time has changed. Nowadays, there are a lot of ways for us to express ourselves, and rap is one of them.
Most people have got a bad vision of what rap is. They think that rap is sexist, rude, racist, with strong language… But it is not, when rap is like that way, it is contaminate. It is the same when somebody says that he or she likes listening to pop music. Automatically a lot of people would think that he or she likes listening to comercial music, because most of the people think that pop and comercial music is connected. We accept that, because it is what majority says, and pop is not related to comercial music at all.
Rap is a way for people to express themselves, to say what they want to say, as poetry or classical music or any art do. So, is rap poetry at all? Yes, it is the same, what changes, it is the way to express what you want to say.
For example, have a look at these sentences. Do you think it is racist, sexist or rude?

n my opinion the urban rap genre UN which one express it teaches you a healthy and free at the time of pensmiento and fashion sense . also writes and expresses a feeling of life and is almost the only Spanish music with lyrics he heard . Have to stop and listen to your letters and messages , often room is very interesting ... we have very good message groups and rap music very interesting cute scammers and De reflections.

ResponderEliminarA few months ago, I didn't like listening to rap music because I seemed very bored and hard to understand. Now I think rap is poetry because is a way of expressing feeling through music.
Rap is at the present a type of music which his composer try to express his feelings with musicality and rhythm. The most common topics in rap are love, sorrow,etc.
In my opinion, although I hardly ever listening to rap music I think rap is poetry because as their name suggests, the word RAP are the initials of
"rhythm and poetry".
Now my own opinion about rap like poetry:

I listen so much rap every day, for me is like a lifestyle, always help me to express myself and forget bad things. I always listen old rap or better called "the old school" 'cause is true poetry and express all of the rap must to do.
Finally, I think that the new rap or hip hop like joung people try to do can be called... trash? well every people can have some of tastes of music but I don't think that it can be called rap, well always you can listen good music like Rapsuskley or Nach, this is good rap and spanish.

ResponderEliminarWell, I didn't look for rap vídeos before this activity. After see some vídeos and seach in some websides, I could see how people express themselves nowadays.
Before that, poetic people wrote so many poetic text and they are now so famous in our spanish lessons but people now use another way to express themselves.
I think it's very original that people mixs rap and poetry to make something special. People have to now that.
In conclusion rap is the way to express how you are feeling at the moment and poetric is just the same. RAP IS POETRY AT ALL

ResponderEliminarI'm not a big fan of rap, but there are some really disgusting rap songs out there that treat womens like objects and I could never considerate that a way of art. People usully relate rap to vandalism and have a bad idea of what rap exactly is. A few years ago i was one of them, but a friend recommend me listen to an old rap song and my mind changed. That song talked about suicide and drugs. I was quite impress, the way that the words rhymed was amazing and the beat was sick. Before of that I understood that I should not judge a book by it's cover and that rap is lifestyle for those who need to express them selves. It is a different way of telling a history and it is a different way of trying to tell something to someone, jut like writting a letter or writting a poem. We can compare rap and what rappers do to what Cervantes and other famous authors did.

I think that this kind of music was a critique of society before but now it has become more sexist, but anyway rap is poetry that uses rhymes rhythmically and wordplay. ResponderEliminarAfter reading all the web pages i'm going to give my opinion about if rap is poetry and my opinion is that both use literary devices such assonance and alliteration, they use words and they are spoken but they have some diferences. The obvious diference between themis taht rap is words put on music and poetry is not. Also a big consideration in rap music are the beats and groove. In poetry there is nothing to consider but the words and perhaps the rhythm and rhyme.

In my opinion the rap is not poetry because in spite of having some things in common fue y have more diferencies. Forma example they emploid lyrics but rap put in on music and poetry does not do it.
