The Soloist is an American film based on real events, directed by Joe Wright and starring Jamie Fox and Robert Downey, Jr. It has a script by Susannah Grant and is based on the book The Soloist: A Lost Dream, an Unlikely Friendship, and the Redemptive Power of Music journalist and columnist for the Los Angeles Times, Steve Lopez. Premiered in the U.S.A. on April 24, 2009
In 2005, Steve Lopez(Robert Downey, Jr.) is a reporter who is in trouble creative work for the LA Times, with his ex-wife Mary(Catherine Keener), editor of the publication. One day he meets Nathaniel Ayers(Jamie Fox), a homeless man with schizophrenia who plays his two-stringed violin sitting under a statue of Beethoven. Lopez approaches Ayers with the idea that it could be the story you need for your column, so he decides to investigate and finds that it was an outstanding student of the prestigious Juilliard School. Lopez then decides to help him get his life and discover the causes bashed a brilliant musician so end up on the streets, creating a frienship that will change not only the lives of Ayers, but also the same Steve Lopez.

The identification of the body to the beach as Abdu, Fatima's brother, take everyone by surprise. Morey personally oversees research, while Fran tries to stop at all costs revenge Faruq, directly accusing his opponent, Hannibal. All indications are that the death of Abdu was due to a settling of accounts related to drugs, but Fatima makes contact Sara Morey, Abdu's girlfriend, and she tells him that the young man was a friend of a suicide bomber who immolated in Tangier months ago claiming the lives of eleven people. Meanwhile, Khaled seeks to win over Fatima but she's in love with Morey every time he shuns.
